من خلال هذه القطعة، تواصل الفنانة استكشاف العلاقات بين المواد المختلفة الموجودة والمتاحة محلياً. يتضمن ذلك الجمع بين أنواع مختلفة من الطين والمواد الليفية الموجودة في المجال الطبيعي الأردني. يعرض العمل الفني كيف تتصرف هذه المواد مع بعضها البعض، وكيف أنها تدعم وتحول بعضها البعض من خلال تقنيات موفرة للطاقة وليست بحاجة لصيانة.
عن الفنانة
مهندسة معمارية وفنانة أردنية عملت كمصممة في نيويورك، وفي واشنطن، والأردن. درست العمارة العامية، والعمارة الكلاسيكية وتقوم حالياً بالبحث في العمارة التقليدية والمادية في الأردن من خلال العمل باليد على استكشاف المواد الطينية والمواد المحلية الأخرى.

Intimaa’ (affinity)
Clay and organic materials
This work explores the combination of three materials (bullan plants, wool and clay) that are quite opposites in their characteristics, yet share a few commonalities. They are all abundant in the Jordanian context and have historically been used in the construction and insulation of simple dwellings. Additionally, both bullaan and wool, are fibrous, flexible to different degrees, and can act as cushioning devices. The combination reflects a feeling of affinity between all three materials, as they support and transform one another.
About the artist
Tasneem is a Jordanian architect and artist who has worked as a designer in New York, Washington DC, and Jordan. She has studied vernacular construction and classical architecture and is currently researching traditional architecture and materiality in Jordan through hands-on material explorations with clay and other local materials.
