الخيمة هي عبارة عن تركيب تفاعلي متحول يدعو الجمهور للعب وبناء عمل فني داخل المعرض. ترمز الطبيعة البناءة والتفكيكية للقطعة إلى دورة حياة دائرية مثالية للعمل الفني. الأجزاء مصنوعة من ألواح مهملة تم استخدامها في معارض سابقة، وتم تحويلها إلى قطعة فنية بواسطة رسومات ناجي العلي النابضة بالحياة. يعكس تدخل العلي نهج الترحال في فن الشارع، حيث تتغير قاعدة اللوحة باستمرار، كما هو الحال مع هذه الألواح. يذكرنا هذا التركيب بالخيام التي بنيناها كأطفال بأية “أجزاء” يمكن أن نجدها في منازلنا.
عن الفنان
إذا كتبت “ناجي العلي” جوجل، فستكون النتيجة الأولى هي صورة بالأبيض والأسود لرسام كاريكاتير فلسطيني شهير. ولد العلي عام 1937 وقتل قبل أكثر من 30 عاما في شوارع لندن. في المقابل، ناجي العلي، ذو الثلاثة وعشرون عاماً، هو أيضاً فنان من فلسطين لكنه يقيم حالياً في عمان. مع انه تم تسميته على اسم أيقونة فنية، لكن العلي يرسم طريقه الفني بنفسه.

Reused exhibition foam boards
The fort is an interactive and modular installation that invites the audience to play and build an artwork inside the gallery. The very constructive-deconstructive nature of the piece symbolizes an ideal circular lifecycle for an artwork. The parts are made of discarded exhibition foam boards, and were turned into an art piece by Naji Al Ali’s vibrant painting. Al Ali’s intervention mirrors his nomadic approach to street art, where the canvas is ever shifting, same as for these modules. This installation reminds us of the forts we built as children with whatever ‘parts’ we could find in our houses.
About the artist
If you type “Naji Al-Ali” into the Google search bar, a black-and-white photo of a famed Palestinian cartoonist is the top result. He was born in 1937 and was murdered over 30 years ago on the streets of London. By contrast, Naji Al-Ali, 23, is also an artist from Palestine. But he currently resides in Charlotte and is very much alive. He may have been named after an artistic icon, but he is fulfilling his own destiny.
