Registration to Shifting Grounds: ديمومة  – The Sharing Sessions 

Shifting Grounds: ديمومة is an event and a public program that focuses on discussing sustainability in the arts. As part of this public program, Remote Closeness invites you to attend the Sharing Sessions, a series of workshops that offer alternative working methods, proposing sustainable and eco-conscious solutions and approaches that artist can adopt for a more environmental studio practice.

The sessions will explore these different techniques:

Thursday, Oct 20
Artist discussion (best environmental studio practices)
Monoprints (etching on cardboard)

Friday, Oct 21
Local clay (experimenting and sculpting with local clays)
Anthotype (developing photos with the sun and natural dyes)
Material sense (towards a deeper relationship between the artist and the material)

Saturday, Oct 22
Eco printing (with organic materials)
Biomaterials (creating new textures with organic materials)

These sessions will take place during the Shifting Grounds: ديمومة  event on October 20-22, between 3 and 5 pm, at the MMAG Foundation in Jabal Amman.

Kindly note that the sessions:

• will take place in person and outdoors.
• have limited spots (7-10 participants per session), so your registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Shifting Grounds: ديمومة” is a research-based and multi-layered project that explores alternative ways of handling resources and materials in the visual arts, and questions common institutional practices in cultural event production. It includes an ongoing residency and a public program planned for October 2022.
