A public space intervention that relays, through interviews, activities and murals, the experience of migrant inhabitants in Jabal Amman neighborhoods with the notions of remoteness and isolation, home, and distant communication.

About the artist:

Dalal Mitwally is a Jordanian, Amman-based multidisciplinary artist with a focus on the ‘outside’. Her entire world view is shaped by the infinite discourse that art and its surroundings partake in. Widening her view of the art world beyond the conventional gallery walls and finding a unique performative interaction when creating art publicly, her art mainly explores the theme of identity and Arabic lettering often integrated into socio-political commentary works while still preserving her own narrative. Dalal’s work also drives her to continually create opportunities enabling other artists to express themselves in connection to their community.
